I never really liked the design either the poor suit work and amateur production pics never done it any good but I really like it now. Not only because of the price tag but because the design is pretty despised. Not a lot of people would even dream about owning this. well for lack of better word looks like shit.
Of coarse the colours a little off, it's missing a few body parts and the pose is pretty horrendous but it's overall pretty well done. If you take a look at the other PredAlien variations available, the ADI/SideShow version totally takes the trophy. Believe me the price is well worth the awsomsause and quality of this piece. Then they lowered it again in Nov to just £300 which was my cue to place an order. Forbidden Planet had it for £800 around Aug/Sept but they lowered the price to £500 around Oct. Though I'd say I got it for a bit of a bargin. Okay, the price tag on this beast is gonna be high no matter where you look. Even Kane's Son wasn't as biomechanical as this, so to that thank-you Brother's Strause (!) (Not quite) The arms and hands look like made of nuts and bolts and the 'ribbed' effect is all too common on the legs, dorsal tubes and hands. I can remember Colin posted a while back saying that Chet had the most machine-like body we'd ever seen an Alien possess. Now, one profound complaint from a design standpoint is the lack of biomechanical er.
Nice to see a lot of silver around the back and under the crest. The paint job is exquisite, some good merges of the Predator skin colour with the Alien.
The right foot is loose but the weight of the thing keeps it down so you wouldn't need to worry about it falling over. It's quite heavy, not as heavy as the base which has a single hole it for you to slot the PredAlien's left foot into. So, the pose is one of, if not the, strong point. Looks very graceful from where I'm sitting right now, like it's just gliding towards a victim. First of, this maquette really shows off Chet's design well and it looks a lot sleeker and alien-like than it ever did in the movie.
